This department emphasis is on Youth Ministries. Our belief is that young people are best at reaching other young people. This department meets each Sabbath/Saturday evening, approximately an hour before sunset, and focuses on dealing with issues facing our young people.Today’s youth are destined to have a significant impact on the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom. The Adventist Youth Society believes in life-changing message of the gospel. Our youth ministry motto is “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” Romans 1:16.

The goal of the ministry is to shape maturing teens into adults who love and worship Jesus Christ, by providing contexts for them to experience, apply, and proclaim the glorious gospel. Rather than parent abdicating their role to a ministry leader, parents are encouraged to be heavily involved in all youth activities and to be the primary means of grace in their children’s lives. We are here to work along with parents and guardians to prepare our youth for the Second Coming of Christ.

Our youth department is involved in weekly meetings, regular recreational activities, and several Youth Days throughout the year. These activities allow for our youth to take a pro-active role in prayer, worship service, testimonies, drama and music. The youth organizational structure consists of a Youth Council involving all the youth ministries and Youth Coordinator Michael Dawkins.

We believe that God’s faithfulness will be revealed to many of the youth of today, as they recognize the need to serve the Savior. The fruit has been abundant as we have seen many young adults and children assume their place as vital members of the church community, serving alongside the senior members of the church body. The youth will see the North Philadelphia Seventh-day Adventist Church as their own church, not simply one they attend with a parent.
